To Deliver Real Value in this Business - You Have to Become Uncomfortable

Speaker: David Contorno, Employee HealthCARE Strategist, The Hilb Group

The data is clear...the biggest reason for wage stagnation and middle class wealth erosion is healthcare, by far. We are quickly approaching 20% of our GDP. And over the last few years, employee out of pocket shares have ballooned while premiums continued to increase (so we are paying more for less). The biggest reason for bankruptcy in the U.S. is medical bills with nearly 75% of those people having had health insurance. And if you are a traditional broker, showing traditional options, getting paid in traditional ways, then you are not only failing to solve the problem, you may be facilitating it.

In this session, learn about why this is, and what you can do to change it. Can you imagine delivering a 47.5% reduction in costs to your clients? And then low single digits increases thereafter? Not only is it possible, its relatively simple. And you can get paid MORE than you do today at the same time.

As President Trump approaches his 500th day in office, and we get closer to the 2018 mid-term elections, major changes could still be in store for the employer based health insurance system. States are back in the Court system challenging the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act, there will soon be new rules governing Association Health Plan, and new players have announced they will be entering the health insurance marketplace.  James Slotnick, AVP Government Relations for Sun Life Financial will provide his perspective on the key political and industry developments you need to be focusing on in the months ahead.
